How to use it
- Review General monthly budget and the current month shown.
- Under Before you buy, enter the amount you are considering.
- Read the projected amount remaining or over budget. This is a preview; record an actual purchase separately.
- Open Budget Settings to change the overall limit, or Purchase checks and Help to understand the separate guardrails.
What the numbers and terms mean
General monthly spending includes recorded gross purchases. Selected-purchase guardrails track their own chosen purchases and limits. Before you buy previews the effect without saving a transaction.
Worked example
With a $200 monthly limit and $85 in purchases, previewing another $60 leaves a projected $55. Nothing is recorded until you separately save the actual purchase.
Before you rely on this
General budget and voluntary guardrails are separate. HobbyShield cannot block payments or purchases outside HobbyWise, and the preview does not reserve money or change a limit.
