How to use it

  1. Tap Add expense and enter Description and Amount.
  2. Choose Category and check the expense date.
  3. Use Apply expense to for the correct business, buy, event or sale scope offered by the form; add Merchant or Notes if useful.
  4. Tap Save expense and review the saved cost in the matching period and scope.

What the numbers and terms mean

An operating expense pays for running the business. An inventory buy pays for stock. Expense scope records which supported part of the business the cost belongs to.

Worked example

A $35 booth fee is an operating expense. A $120 collection bought at that booth is an inventory buy; do not add the same $120 again as an operating expense.

Before you rely on this

Do not duplicate a fee or postage amount already included in a sale unless you intentionally distinguish the costs. Check date and scope before comparing reports; an expense is not a collection-value estimate.

Worked examples are fictional. Follow the controls available in your release and account.
