How to use it

  1. Choose Record a buy in Business or Add buy in Buys. Enter Buy name, Source, Category and Whole-buy cash paid.
  2. Tap Save Buy, then open the buy and use Add item for selected copies.
  3. On each copy, check Acquisition and enter only its assigned share in Cost paid before Save item.
  4. Review Selected-copy costs and Recovered proceeds as linked sales are recorded. Review any manual recovery correction before confirming it.

What the numbers and terms mean

Whole-buy cash paid is cash paid once. Selected-copy costs assign part of that amount to tracked pieces; unassigned cost is the rest. Recovered proceeds includes cash recovery credited by linked sales, not item profit. Whole-buy cash left to recover compares that recovery with the original outlay.

Worked example

A $120 lot with two copies assigned $40 each has $80 assigned and $40 unassigned. A linked sale with $85 net proceeds leaves $35 of the whole-buy cash to recover. The unsold second copy still has its $40 recorded cost.

Before you rely on this

A linked purchase and whole-buy outlay count once. Do not credit a linked sale again as a manual recovery amount. Unknown item cost stays unknown. Earlier versions label Whole-buy cash paid as Cost and Recovered proceeds as Sales credited.

Worked examples are fictional. Follow the controls available in your release and account.
