How to use it
- Choose Record a sale in Business or Add sale in Sales, then Choose inventory item. Check the linked copy's name, SKU and storage details; use Item sold for a supported unlinked sale.
- Enter Sale amount as the gross item price, then choose Paid with and Where sold.
- Open Show sale details and enter known Cost paid, Fees, Shipping paid and Shipping charged. Leave unknown amounts blank; enter 0 only for a known zero.
- Review Gross sale, Shipping charged, Fees, Shipping paid, Net proceeds, Recorded item cost and Item profit in order.
- Tap Save sale once. Open the saved sale and use Edit sale or Complete sale details when a fact needs correction.
What the numbers and terms mean
Gross sale plus shipping charged, minus fees and shipping paid, equals net proceeds. Subtract recorded item cost for item profit before operating expenses. An unknown fee or shipping amount leaves net proceeds unconfirmed; unknown item cost also leaves item profit unconfirmed.
Worked example
$100 gross + $0 shipping charged − $10 fees − $5 shipping paid = $85 net proceeds. Subtract $40 recorded item cost for $45 item profit before operating expenses. If linked to a $120 buy with no prior recovery, that $85 leaves $35 of the whole-buy cash unrecovered; the other unsold copy stays in inventory.
Before you rely on this
Blank economics are unknown, not zero. Collector sales and Pro seller economics serve different purposes. Record a $20 operating expense separately; do not enter it again as this sale's fee or item cost. Edit a saved sale rather than creating a duplicate to correct it.
Worked examples are fictional. Follow the controls available in your release and account.
